The 20-cent US Postage Stamp which serves as the frontispiece for this miniature volume commemorates the 150th birthday of Horatio Alger (1832-1899). The stamp was issued in 1982 after having been rejected twice by the Citizen's Stamp Advisory Committee. , a best-selling author of books for boys. Alger published more than 100 books during his life time. Lillian Cohen designed and bound this book.
