[vi], (164) pp. Schmoller's article "is mainly about three Italian women, two of whom were active in the early part of our century, and in whose wake we reach the present." It contains a series of black-and-white photographs of papers under discussion, illustrations in red, and six paper samples tipped-in. John Dreyfus's article has 4 patterned paper samples designed for the Curwen Press tipped-in, 16 color plates of examples of the work of the Curwen Press, and 8 plates of type sample used by the press. This volume also contains the typical illustrations and plates accompanying the various other articles on the book arts; text clean, unmarked. Red stiff paper wrappers, printed dust-jacket; binding square and tight, spine lightly faded, corners of the binding lightly bumped, as they extend over the text-block yapp-style. PD123-003. Hans Peter Schmoller was a German and British graphic designer who worked as Head of Typography and Design at Penguin Books from 1949 to 1976.
