This is the second bibliography of the Hillside Press, the first one published in 1971, and this one shortly after Frank Irwin's death earlier in the year. Irwin and his wife Eleanor ran the Hillside Press, one of the renaissance miniature book publishers in the United States as identified by Robert C. Bradbury. They were known among miniature book publishers and collectors alike as being foremost in their craft, designing, typesetting, illustrating, and binding all by hand, and in the process making some of the most lovely and expertly made books in the trade. Robert Massmann provides a preface for the book, and Eleanor has included a biography of her late husband after the bibliography.
