Dark Green cloth, color illustrated label on front cover, tabled end-papers, stitched pamphlet sewn into the cloth binding; binding square and tight, what appears to be the plain paper covers have paste residue and on the outside of the rear cover is written in ink "Slipcase, binding & end papers by Alice Vaughan." BO118-081. Very Good.
FIRST EDITION. June Dougherty was a long time La Canada Flintridge resident who moved to La Canada Flintridge in 1956 with her husband and 3 children. She was active in Pasadena's League of Women Voters, Descanso Gardens and the Lantern House. She compiled Sources of History - La Crescenta and authored: La Canada Flintridge, a small local history book used by school children. From the Glendale News-Press obituary, 2011. This book was published by the La Canada Flintridge Historical Society, which disbanded in 1999. Its records have been placed with The Lantern House Archives, which is part of the Lanterman House History Center and Archives and the Historical Society of the Crescenta Valley. This copy is in a special handmade binding by Alice Vaughan.
