FIRST EDITION. Contains the wide-ranging and brilliant observations of the autodidact whose critical eye knows no constraint. Mary L. Jones notes 2 primary periods in the beginning of William Cheney's career as a printer. The first runs from 1933 to 1939 when Cheney was introduced to Thomas Perry Stricker and Cheney's first efforts as a printer.
