[46] pp. Color cat-vignette on the title page, color illustrations throughout by Marshall Goodman; text clean, unmarked, paper lightly toned. Silver-stamped yellow leather, marbled end-leaves; binding square and tight, light soiling to covers, inner hinge cracked at pp. 41-42. Glen Dawson's copy without distinguishing marks. GKK220-025. Good. LIMITED EDITION of 249 copies. Designed and folded by Norman Forgue, William Muns made the negatives and stripped the three-color negatives, bound by Bela Blau. This is a facsimile reprint of the first and only edition of Rouben Mamoulian's story of the cat who attended the birth of Christ. Mamoulian directed many films, including Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931), considered to be the best film version of Robert Louis Stevenson's tale of a man who takes a potion which turns him from a mild-mannered man of science into a homicidal maniac.
