The pencil sketches by De Quille have not previously been published. William Wright was an American author, journalist, and humorist. De Quille was on the staff of the Virginia City Territorial Enterprise for over thirty years, and his writings were also printed in other publications throughout the US and abroad. His writings were highly regarded for his ability to explain silver mining techniques in simple terms. REFERENCE: Harlan, The Two Hundredth Book, No. 165.
