Very Good. This volume presents the elegant translation by John Warrington, and also features a first-person essay by influential American drama critic and author John Mason Brown. Brown makes a case for the contemporary relevance of The Gallic Wars in the face of 20th-century developments in military strategy compelled by World Wars I and II. The text itself provides a primary source for early knowledge of Celtic pre-Roman Britain, including commentary on the Druids, Gaulish dress, and war technology.
