Good. Pippa Passes is a verse drama by Robert Browning, first published in 1841. In this work, a blameless silk-winding girl wanders innocently in Northern Italy; she sings as she goes, her song influencing others to act for the good. The work caused some controversy when it was first published, due to the matter-of-fact portrayals of many of the area's more disreputable characters. Offered here in a pretty, but inexpensive reprint by the New York publisher, Thomas Y. Crowell.
