A collection 146 recipes collected by the Harrison family, with a section on biographical notes from the family members whose recipes are contained in this little volume. All the recipes were cooked on coal and wood burning stoves. George Harrison Whitney's mother began collecting these recipes when she was 25 years old in 1909. George Harrison Whitney (1914-2000) arrived in Upland California in 1916 where the family built their home in their orange grove with the help of architect Myron Hunt. George Whitney was also a distinguished Catholic layman, Knight of Malta, Los Angeles lawyer of note, and member of the Zamorano Club.
