INSCRIBED by Francis J. Weber on the colophon. Fine. Father Weber's exhaustive study of the work of Bernhardt T. Wall (1872-1956), American historian and illustrator. Wall designed more than 5,000 comic cards and was known as the ?Postcard King.? Inspired by a 1915 visit to Colorado, Nevada, and Califonria, Wall produced many works with Western themes, including small towns, cowboys, and Indians. Many of his illustrations were published by Valentine and Sons, Bergman, Barton and Spooner, International Art Co., and others.
