Joaquim Verissimo Serrao (b. 1925) is an award-winning Portuguese historian who served as dean of the University of Lisbon (1973 - 1974), professor emeritus at the Faculty of Arts at the same university, and between 1975 and 2006, President of the Portuguese Academy of History.
