Marie Louise Burke was an author of spiritual poems, who met Swami Ashokananda in 1948 and become closely associated with the Vedanta Society of Northern California. Burke took vows in the Rama Krishna order in 1974. She is best-known for her six-volume work Swami Vivekananda in the West: New Discoveries. This collection of Verses and Curses reveals her spiritual quest even before her introduction to Swami Ashokananda.
