Quarter green cloth, decorative paper over boards; binding square and tight, light shelf wear, light toning to edges of covers. Stringfellow Barr was Professor of History at the University of Virginia and editor of The Virginia Quarterly Review. This satirical essay was originally read by him at a joint luncheon of the American Historical Association and the American Political Science Association in December, 1935.
