Pictorial wrappers, stapled, added clear mylar dust-jacket; binding square and tight, covers soiled and chipped with loss, cellophane tape repairs, the spine is mostly chipped away, covers hold on with old cellophane tape, rear cover and remnants of the spine now nearly entirely separated, but held in place with a new mylar dust-jacket. The front cover boasts a reproduction of an allegorical oil painting "California" that depicts California as a comely virgin holding the fruits of the new region and accompanied by two domesticated grizzly bears.
