Very Good. Flavius Magnus Aurelius Cassiodorus Senator (circa 485-circa 585 AD) was a Roman Statesman and early christian writer. He was the author of many works, and was also a collector of books and promoted the preservation of books through copying and binding in a monastic setting. His commentary on the Psalter is modeled after Augustine's Explanatio psalmorum. This leaf was printed by Johann Amerbach (circa 1434-1513) an important humanist scholar-printer based in Basel. Amerbach printed at least 110 incunabula using over 30 printing types. Some of his publications include a complete edition of St Ambrose and the complete works of Augustine.
