Introduction by John Lathourakis, this slim volume contains a single tale from the Konjaku Monogatari (Anthology of Tales from the Past), a series of stories written during the late Heian period (794-1185 CE). Due to the brevity of these stories, Lathourakis chose the "finger book" format which is tall with a narrow width, a format rarely used in modern miniature books.
