This book is an account of his solo journey, drawing from his diary and including 56 original photographs from Bartholomew.

INSCRIBED by author on half-title, "This vol. is said to be my best book. (I'll not argue the point.) R. H. Dillon." Very Good. Meriwether Lewis, of the famed Lewis and Clark Expedition, was an American explorer, soldier, politician, and public administrator. This biography by Richard Dillon received a gold medal award from the Commonwealth Club of California for the best nonfiction book of 1965. Dillon was a prolific author about the American West.
