3 Wallace Nethery (1931-2000). Beach-La-Mar: The Trade Language of Melanesia.
Los Angeles: Dawson's Book Shop, 1988 Hardcover Used: Very Good Hardcover

Decorative brown paper over boards, paper spine label; binding square and tight. Very Good. Printed and bound by Wallace and Corry Nethery. Beach-la-Mar is a Melanesian trade language, a form of pidgin based on English and spoken in Melanesia, New Guinea, and North East Australia. Glen Dawson had a life-long interest in the variety of human languages, in no small part because of his interest in Christian missions, but also because missionaries were often the first people to give alphabets to many languages that were only spoken languages in the nineteenth century. Wallace Nethery was a librarian at the University of Southern California. He and his wife Corry printed over 50 books, most of them miniatures.
