[ii], 17, [3] pp. 3 color plates (including the frontispiece), text printed in red and black inks, reproduces the text of an essay by Edward Cleveland Kemble, the first printer - craftsman of San Francisco / Yerba Buena, originally published in the Sacramento Daily Union August 26, September 16, and October 14, 1871, includes a biographical foreword by Douglas S. Watson; text clean, un-marked. Quarter brown cloth, paper over boards, color pictorial label mounted on top cover; binding square and tight, light shelf wear. An excellent copy from the private collection of John Class, noted Orange County, CA bibliophile, collector, and past President of the Book Club of California.
