FIRST EDITION of this festschrift for Dorothy Eugenia Miner (1904-1973), who was Medievalist Curator of Manuscripts at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore. 4to. 11 1/4 x 8 3/8 inches. xviii, 353, [3] pp. Title-page vignette, black-and-white frontispiece portrait of Miner, bibliography of Miner's published works, black-and-white illustrations throughout, 19 essays on medieval art and books, index; text clean, unmarked. Gilt-stamped blue cloth; binding square and tight. Fine. Miner became keeper of manuscripts at the Walter in 1934 where she remained for thirty years; she was responsible for the collections of Islamic art, the rare books and reference libraries, and editor of publications. The 19 essays in this volume deal with many subjects in the field of Medieval art and design with a special reference to books and book bindings.
